Since having my son last October, there is nothing I am more obsessed with right now than kids fashion. And I am especially obsessed with baby knits [obviously]. I love searching online for little boy sweaters and little boy beanies and mittens. I spend hours scrolling through Pinterest boards just to get my fill of adorable children’s knitwear.

I was recently introduced to Andean Design and realized this company is a perfect marriage of my two current passions: baby knitwear and community engagement. Each knitted garment is hand-crafted by Peruvian artisans using cotton and 100% Alpaca yarn – once considered the “fiber of the Gods” in Peru – due to its rich softness and durability.

Andean Design was created to provide Peruvian artisans with an avenue for economic prosperity. By engaging in fair trade practices, Andean Design is supporting the sustainability of Peruvian traditions and culture.

If you are as obsessed with baby knitwear as I am, or interested in providing decent wages and working conditions for Peruvian makers, check out Andean Design.
