Yarn Bombing the Smithsonian Renwick Museum, DC

I was in DC yesterday and decided to leave the American Craft Museum a gift, because it just fit so nicely!

It was fantastic because as soon as we installed the piece, people were posing with it! I kind of wonder how long this lasted..

If anyone has any info please feel free to let me know!

Yarn Bombing in San Diego

So I was in San Diego last week and felt that I wanted to leave a little gift behind.  I jimmied up this tree and balanced on a terribly unstable little twig to hang this piece in the Hillcrest neighborhood, but it was all worth it!  You can find this tree at the intersection of 5th Ave and University Avenue.

Hand-Knitted Umbrella

HAHA Magazine asked Philly’s Dutch Umbrella Share Program if they would turn over some of their classic white umbrellas to four local artists and have them think of the umbrellas as a blank canvas. The results of which have been chronicled through The Dutch Umbrella Episodes.

Fall Yarn Bomb

UGH, it’s November. But at least the knit cozies feel a bit more appropriate! My first Fall Yarn Bomb, in my neighborhood! This is at 28th and Pennsylvania.

And a personal touch:

And to add, a little puppy couture:

It’s not necessarily the subversiveness of graffiti, not getting back at the system. It’s about people going out there. It’s not a venue that may be meant for them, you just saw a spot that looked awesome to do something, and you didn’t ask any questions. I like that about it . It opens up the realm of possibility.

Yarn Bombing In Philadelphia

These are images from my latest knit graffiti installation in Center City Philadelphia.  This piece was knit and crocheted by hand, and then sewn onto a lovely tree at the intersection in front of Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.  The piece took approximately 3 weeks to complete.  If you have questions or would like to join me in future projects, please contact me through email.  I would love to expand the projects to further reaches of Philadelphia.
